Layoff Support Orientation Overview

Talent Solutions by WorkSource Spokane provides immediate aid to businesses and affected workers during layoffs, closures, or reductions in force (RIF). We are available to deliver a layoff support presentation to impacted workers at your request and do not maintain a calendar of rapid response events.

The layoff orientation presentation is geared to deliver information about services and resources available to assist impacted workers including:

  • Navigating unemployment insurance
  • Accessing health coverage through the WA Health Benefit Exchange
  • Career planning, job training and reskilling opportunities
  • Retirement guidance
  • Local WorkSource services
  • Representation from Washington Employment Security Department (ESD) as needed
  • Union representatives (if applicable)

As most businesses prefer the convenience of on-demand virtual support, we created a content library that is easy for employers to use. The following information was designed to be shared with impacted workers to help them navigate the transition.

  • Layoff support digital e-book: A companion guide to the layoff orientation, outlining services and resources.
  •  Workshops: No-cost, virtual on-demand workshops available through the WorkSource Spokane Learning Center.
  • Outplacement support
